About us

The Cromwell family have been in the steel business for over 60 years.  Using the experience built up over the years Cromwell engineering has adapted dramatically to meet the many challenges faced in the increasingly demanding construction environment.    We currently employ around 60 full time staff working from factories in Croydon and Reading meeting the demands of our valued clients all over Great Britain, Europe and the Middle East.

Health And Safety

Health and safety is taken extremely seriously and is managed from the top down ensuring that from design stage all the way to installation and sign off safety is incorporated through each step.  Health and safety is managed internally and externally with regular inspections from an external professional body ensuring we are kept abreast of the fast changing regulations and laws.  Health and safety is fast becoming a culture within the company which is something our managing director Joe Cromwell has been striving for over the years.  Last year OHSAS18001 certification was achieved which aids us with the management of safety.

The Environment

Cromwell Engineering has been working hard over the last few years to manage their environmental footprint.  There is still work to do however with the ISO14000 management system now in place and with the advice of an external professional body we are constantly striving hit our internal targets.

Quality Management

Quality is managed throughout the process from the purchasing of materials to the design, fabrication and installation.  We have worked hard to increase our supply chain and ensure that our suppliers are on board with providing the certification and authentication of materials required by our clients for the sign off process.   This system not only ensures that the job is visually pleasing but the materials, welds and processes are all backed up with the certification giving the client comfort that the job has been correctly engineered, manufactured with the correct materials specified.  Testing and inspections are also carried out by external bodies to assure our work when required.
